Tax loss harvesting is the process of selling some investments at a loss to reduce capital gains tax on investments sold at a profit. For investments held outside a tax-sheltered account (such as an ISA or SIPP in the UK where you don’t pay any capital gain or income tax) tax loss harvesting can be used effectively.
